"What did we have on the way to Boston that we don't have on the way back? Zak's life savings!"

The field trip on Friday was pretty entertaining... mostly because it was a World History trip, so the majority of the people who came were certifiably nuts. I mean, Ryder, Zak, Ricky B., et al on a bus together for an entire hour? It's a good thing we didn't get stuck in traffic.
Oh, and the Russians came, too- we dropped them off in Boston to walk the Freedom Trail with the creepy new assistant librarian (he hates me) before going on the Cambridge. Fun. They probably thought we were all insane.
And speaking of the Russians,  one of the girls looks like Daisy from Girl, Interrupted. It's kind of freaking me out. (I wonder if she had a chicken sandwich for lunch that day.) Seriously, though- I'll see her in the hallway and do a double-take. It's probably a good thing that none of them look like Lisa...

But anyway, the field trip. Zak gave all of his money to this random guy who came up to him on the street and told him he needed cash to start an AIDS foundation, which is basically Exhibit A for why it's not the greatest idea to take a bunch of rural high-schoolers to cities, and then let them roam freely. WE'RE NOT STREETWISE, DAMMIT. This was further proven by the general reactions to the view outside the bus windows ("Look! A homeless person! Cool!") - the guys were taking note of which people 'looked like drug dealers- and by this I mean being all, "That guy's got his hands in his pockets! He must be packing!" and "Those people are all crowded together! I'll bet they're arranging a drop!" This excitement was only added to by the fact that we had to get on and off the bus while it was illegally parked at a city bus stop. Heh. And we also saw a dog stalk a squirrel, and then chase him up a tree. That was pretty exciting. I felt bad for the squirrel, though- even after the dog was gone, he stayed up there on the branch, quivering. Awwww.

Heh. I find it amusing that the stuff I'm writing about has absolutely nothing to do with the actual point of the trip, which was visiting the Fogg Museum (and, y'know, that other museum that I forget the name of). Sad, really.
Seriously, though- we're only about an hour away from Boston, but the only 'city' we see on a regular basis is Portsmouth.  So in a sense, we really are just overexcitable, naive country kids. Hee.

In other news... GMAIL WON'T LET ME E-MAIL MY POWERPOINT. This annoys me.

(Title quote attributed to Alex M., by the way- from when everyone was telling random jokes and riddles on the way back. I'm telling you this, of course, because I know you care deeply.)
