I had an ADVENTURE yesterday!

If Autosave doesn't work and then AOL cuts out, I am going to be SO pissed.

So, at around two PM yesterday, I went to West Lebanon with mom to visit this totally awesome pet store (Lebanon Pet and Aquarium Center) that Dawn used to work at- they have the coolest bird room ever! Smaller birds (finches and the like) are kept in closed cages, but most of the other birds are in open-topped pens that have perches and tables and stuff that they can climb up onto (their wings are all clipped, of course, so they can't fly into the main section of the store). I even got to hold one (even though you're technically not supposed to)- a rose-breasted cockatoo flew down onto the floor, and he came onto my arm to go back up. :P
But, yes. It was awesome. Photography is allowed, so next time I go (which will probably be in the next couple of weeks) I'm going to bring my digital camera.
Seriously, there should be stores like that around here- that's the kind of place I'd love to work at while in college.

Next, however, came the not-so-fun part. On the way back home we passed through Concord and had dinner at a restaurant/pub called The Barley House (we sat in the restaurant section, but they had the presidential debates going on on TVs in the bar, and most of the people were watching them very enthusiastically- the majority of them seemed to be Hilary supporters). Guess what I did? I INHALED A PIECE OF A FREAKING BREADSTICK AND GOT IT STUCK IN MY THROAT. At first it was fine (I was able to eat what I had ordered and everything), but then my throat started getting really sore, especially when I coughed. We figured it would just go away, but by the time we got home (that took a while- Durham's about forty-five minutes away from Concord, and we had some weather), it was still hurting, and mom wanted to take me to the emergency room to get it out of there (she figured it was in my esophogus, and was worried that I'd aspirate it or something). Jenny was majorly pissed- we got home at around eleven (we had told her it would probably be at around nine or so, but we took a bit longer with the birds than we had expected), and then we just packed up and left again.
So we got to the hospital (while checking in and doing all the standard questions, they asked my religious preferences so that if something went majorly wrong while I was in their care they'd know who to call in to do last rights and stuff- do you know how FREAKY that is?), and waited for ages, and then they gave me a room... luckily, there was a bed and everything, and I had brought books, because we were in there for SEVEN HOURS (they were having a busy night, and since I wasn't really in immediate danger, I wasn't exactly priority). It was a major drag. I read about three hundred pages the entire time I was there, I'm guessing- and after I finished my first book (When Dad Killed Mom- freaky title, no?) and got tired of reading the second (Look Me in the Eye- it's a bit dull, IMHO), I didn't really have anything to do but try to sleep... so that's when they started bringing people in to do x-rays (I have to admit, it was more than a bit fun to be wheeled down the hall in my hospital bed- I am SO easily amused). Then we waited for a few more hours, until a doctor could finally come in and try to get the thing out. He got about half of it, and I'm supposed to gargle with warm saltwater every few hours in hopes that the rest of it will dissolve and come out on its own. If it doesn't, it's back to the doctor's tomorrow! Fun, fun, fun!
We finally got back home at around six in the morning (Jenny's still a bit annoyed at me- because of course I did this all on purpose), but my internal clock wouldn't let me sleep past 10 AM. Therefore, tomorrow at school is going to be hell. Joy.

So. That's my TMI of the day. I also apologize for the grammar mistakes that are probably running rampant throughout this little tirade. It's mah LJ, and I can be lazy if I want to.
