Seeing America By Rail- Day 3
Sorry this entry is so late! LJ's been down for a lot of today, so I haven't gotten a chance to post. Anyway, onward!

Colorado morning. Taken a bit before we reached Denver.

Dining car table set up for breakfast!

Leaving Denver.

This is just a lot of post-Denver Colorado countryside-- it looks very stereotypically western to me, but I didn't see any cowboys!

And here's where we started climbing into the Rocky Mountains. It took a while to get up into them, and I got a lot of really neat shots.

We came out of the six-mile-long Moffet Tunnel, and then suddenly... snow everywhere! Not enough to get stuck in though, thankfully.

This is Winter Park at Fraser, where about half the train (and most of the really noisy people in the lounge car) got off.

Then I just got a few more scenery shots as we continued on through the mountains.

At one point it started snowing so much it was hard to get shots of anything more than fifteen feet away from the train.

I took this basically for the dichotomy between the weather outside and the scene on my laptop screensaver.

Eventually it started clearing up a bit, but it was still really foggy for a while.

Because apparently I'm going to take a picture of myself every day.

And this is Glenwood Springs/Aspen, another ski resort.

And then we started coming down through the mountains on the other side.

By that point we were basically just looking back at them as we moved across Colorado...

... and into Utah. (Be warned: after this, you will never want to see another picture of Utah again.)

Told you.
After that my camera broke and I couldn't fix it myself, so future pictures will be cell phone quality.
