So...

Almost two years ago, I decided to go and either flock or privatize every entry in this journal. Tonight I decided that privacy is overrated, and started the process of unlocking most of the flocked entries, just because I don't really see the purpose of bothering to lock things that aren't really personal or tl;dr or whatever. To be honest, I don't know why I decided to make everything private in the first place, but I think it had something to do with the fact that I was sixteen and stupid and unable to grasp the concept of making some entries private and other entries public.

In short, I'm back to pretending to ENTERTAIN THE WORLD with this journal, OMGYAY. Then again, it's really late right now. This might be one of those ideas that sounds awesome at 2AM but will make me go "OH GOD SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING" tomorrow. OH WELL.

Also: DDD. I am way too amused by that place. I don't know why, but the idea of Azula and Ty Lee having a discussion about the movie Titanic will never NOT be funny.

... oh you two~ Always so cute!

Heeey, there's nothing wrong with keeping a completely friends-only journal.  :\  I have a history of stalkers, and one girl in particular would figure out who I am if she saw my entries.  I'm also an intensely private person.  Even if the entries aren't personal or tl;dr, I don't feel comfortable sharing them with total strangers.  Just how I am.

But congratulations on your decision to go public.  That's something I feel takes more courage than I have.

[identity profile] emilyyousay.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course there's nothing wrong with it, but eh. And I'm still keeping some stuff flocked. XD

... You have stalkers? Yikes.

[identity profile] emilyyousay.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
OH AND I KNOW I OWE YOU A TAG. I've just been focusing on one game in particular recently, because we have a fairly big plot going on there right now. DX

[identity profile] fire-lord-azula.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I still think it takes a degree of courage and confidence in yourself to go public.  You want to entertain the masses, and there's never anything wrong with that.  :D

Well, one that I'm completely aware of.  But her friends would recognize me, too, if she told them who I was, and they'd all start bugging me, which is something I'd really like to avoid.

[identity profile] fire-lord-azula.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
OH, AND THAT'S OKAY.  DON'T SWEAT IT.  I have dressing room drama I've been messing around with.  Whenever you're ready.  :)  I figured it was something plot-related, so have at it!  Go get 'em!

[identity profile] emilyyousay.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
That really sucks. :\ Whatever problem they have with you, harassment isn't going to solve it.

[identity profile] fire-lord-azula.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah.  :\  I was friends with the girl.  I was actually one of her first internet friends.  To make a long story slightly shorter, I was briefly going out during the afternoon and coming back later at night, and during my absence, she would take control of my character... which, as everyone in RP-land knows, is bad RP-etiquette.  She pretty much dragged my character through the mud for the lulz.  One of my other friends told me what happened, and... yeah... the friendship ended on a bad note, because she never apologized for what she did or even saw anything wrong with it.  It was many years ago, but she'd still know...

[identity profile] emilyyousay.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry that happened! D: And I'm sorry things never got sorted out between the two of you.

[identity profile] fire-lord-azula.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks.  I appreciate that.  It's just... I never saw it coming.  I couldn't believe she would do that to me.  I trusted her, and she broke that trust over something stupid.  She was starting to hang out with people I didn't like, so maybe that influenced her.

[identity profile] emilyyousay.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a shame if that's the case. "We don't like this person, so you shouldn't like them either" situations are awful. :\

[identity profile] fire-lord-azula.livejournal.com 2009-05-04 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Those people were arrogant and elitist, and I'm pretty sure they didn't think too highly of me, because they kept "killing off" my one character.  I actually had to drop that character completely because it got to be too much.  And she thought they were cool, so she joined their clique, and she was never quite the same after that.

[identity profile] emilyyousay.livejournal.com 2009-05-05 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Geez. What did the mods have to say about that? Or was it an un-modded game?

[identity profile] fire-lord-azula.livejournal.com 2009-05-05 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
It was an un-modded free-for-all that took place in chatrooms.

[identity profile] emilyyousay.livejournal.com 2009-05-05 01:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahhh.

[identity profile] fire-lord-azula.livejournal.com 2009-05-05 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Tough environment to learn how to RP in.  You either learn quickly, or you get harassed endlessly.  And no one's there to stop it.

Fortunately, I picked up on things pretty fast, but it didn't stop the elitists.  At the time, I was barely a teenager, so they probably saw me as an easy target because I was so young.  Those AOL chats are a memory now -- LJ-RPing is so much more relaxing.  I doubt most of those elitists RP anymore; a lot of them would be around 30 by now.

[identity profile] emilyyousay.livejournal.com 2009-05-05 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Eeeek, AOL. I never did AOL RP (or chatrooms at all, really), but I did participate in a Lord of the Rings message board there when I was 13/14. I'm lucky that that was a GOOD environment. :\

[identity profile] fire-lord-azula.livejournal.com 2009-05-05 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I never really did the messageboards, but they did seem calmer, and I'm glad the LoTR board was a safe environment for you.  Be glad you never ventured into the chats.  I had some good times there and met some nice people, but there were definitely pitfalls to that kind of RP.
