State of the Iddy.
Dec. 24th, 2011 07:21 pmDespite the fact that I'm not a fan of a lot of the things LJ has done/is doing, I don't plan on quitting the site. That said! A large portion of my flist has moved over to DW, and so I'm going to start doing more stuff there too. For most entries, I'll probably post to DW and then crosspost to LJ, with commenting enabled in both places. As far as communities I participate in, I'll likely follow them wherever they go. As for the ones I mod:
whatnancysaid and
wickedchouette will stay where they are for the time being, though when comm porting goes up I might see about crossposting there too...? Either way I don't think it'll be a huge deal because neither of them have big memberbases, so I can basically do whatever I feel like there.
dramadramaduck is still in the process of deciding whether or not to move but all y'all who are members/mods there know the story so I don't need to talk about that here.
K I THINK THAT'S IT.

"National Hack Myspace Day" fails.
Aug. 7th, 2009 12:46 pmEach time this site's email notifications start to fail for one reason or another, I am starkly reminded of how much I depend on them. I am often far too ADD to sit and go online for hours at a time; now that they're back, I can actually use LJ without sitting at my computer the entire time like a mindless refreshing drone (... there is a reason why I was pretty much only in one thread yesterday, DDD's HMD notwithstanding). It's AWESOME.
And on an unrelated note, next week I'm hoping to buy a cellphone with one of those little pull-out keyboards, because we have a family-wide texting plan now. So excited.

Just a few things:
Aug. 4th, 2009 12:00 pm- My layout and a bunch of my icons are really ironic because half of it looks gross and I'd never eat it.
- I really, really want to download "Bright Eyes" by Art Garfunkel.
- iTunes needs to stop failing or I'll be driven to illegal downloading.
- Night trampolining is the best.
- I'm procrastinating on my intro for Paradisa because I have no idea what to write.

I am such a computer game dork.
Jun. 11th, 2009 05:24 pmI am addicted to The Sims 3.
Well. Not addicted addicted, but I played it for about three hours straight yesterday. And I'll probably do something similar when I get back from class tonight (... yes, I'm in class right now-- LJing while taking notes on the side, yay). It's a good thing it's summer.
Also, I am completely loving this paid account oh my God. I originally got it for more icon space, but the extra layouts are amazing, too.

Almost two years ago, I decided to go and either flock or privatize every entry in this journal. Tonight I decided that privacy is overrated, and started the process of unlocking most of the flocked entries, just because I don't really see the purpose of bothering to lock things that aren't really personal or tl;dr or whatever. To be honest, I don't know why I decided to make everything private in the first place, but I think it had something to do with the fact that I was sixteen and stupid and unable to grasp the concept of making some entries private and other entries public.
In short, I'm back to pretending to ENTERTAIN THE WORLD with this journal, OMGYAY. Then again, it's really late right now. This might be one of those ideas that sounds awesome at 2AM but will make me go "OH GOD SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING" tomorrow. OH WELL.
Also: DDD. I am way too amused by that place. I don't know why, but the idea of Azula and Ty Lee having a discussion about the movie Titanic will never NOT be funny.

No interesting title today!
Nov. 7th, 2008 02:35 pmSo a demo version of this game was sitting on the table at the Pizza Hut I went to with Mom and Jenny last weekend. The name combined with the first quote on the box had us in hysterics. WE ARE SUCH PERVS. :|
But oh WOW, was Tuesday night crazy. They had a big election night party at the MUB (I didn't go because I was too tired, meh), and I was asleep from about nine or so till eleven, when Mom called and woke me up. At that point the insanity was really only just starting- people were whooping and screaming on their way back from the election party, and this girl in my dorm (I can't remember her name at the moment, ugh) came in and said, "They're running the streets!" Things calmed down after an hour or so, but then started up again the next morning. Heh.
(Obama also won 75% of the mock vote at ORHS. Oh, and Grant Chamberlain can apparently do a hilarious Sarah Palin impression. I would have paid to see that.)
Pffffft what else. OH. THE NEW SADDLE CLUB ISN'T NEARLY AS FUN TO MAKE FUN OF AS THE OLD ONE. I'm probably not going to bother mocking it much at all- I mean, they still have reruns of the old version on Discovery Kids and they're (unintentional) COMEDY GOLD.
Though I did notice that on the new season, they named Melanie's friend after that old-show actress that died. That was nice of them.
... I hate the new profile page. D: I'm still going to renew my paid account for one of my RP journals, though.
...
"I'm still going to renew my paid account of one of my RP journals" is probably the dorkiest sentence I've ever written.

I love being eighteen.
Oct. 22nd, 2008 09:31 pmSo yesterday I FINALLY mailed off a check for a paid account (not for this journal) with add-on space for 100 icons (... I'm FAR MORE EXCITED THAN I SHOULD BE about this). I mailed it on the way back to campus- mom was dropping me off- and I was essentially like, "Mom, can we drive by the post office so I can mail money to this website?" I can guarantee you that less than a year ago, her reaction would have been something along the lines of, "OH HELL NO ARE YOU BUYING DRUGS ONLINE OR SOMETHING?" but now it's just like, "lol whatever do you need a stamp?"
In conclusion: MFY. (Also: 100 ICONS. PROCESS CHECK NAO PLZ.)

So I finally get around to checking the
...
Oh, babb, why do you do this to me?
In other news... WE HAVE A DATE FOR HOUSE. WHOO. But it's not for more than a month, which is extremely awful. And Sonja and her broken wrist still have my DVDs, so if I ever get it into my head that I need a House-fix (not that I've been watching much TV at all lately, but you know), I won't be able to remedy it. MEH.
I don't know, I'm still a bit undecided about this season. I mean, I don't hate it or anything (if I did, I wouldn't care nearly as much about it coming back on...), but it's still probably my least favorite season. Ah, well... I liked S3 better the third time around, so maybe this one will be the same.
Avoiding homework is fun.
Nov. 11th, 2007 08:55 pmI know I said this before, but I'm really liking the tag prompts. It makes tagging my quotes entries so much easier. Now I just hope they make the entry tags work the same as the picture tags- letting you capitalize, and add links and descriptions. Having the name and course tags from my quote section mixed in with the general entry tags from my everyday entries is more than a bit annoying.
Anyway. All in all, the whole 'digitize my quote notebooks' project is going fairly slow- I'm only a little more than halfway through the quotes of freshman year (though, with Leslie and co. in Physical Science and Doug and Joel in band, it's not that surprising that that year was overflowing with quote-y goodness- the same thing's happening this year, what with the WH boys and all). Funfunfun. Comparatively, the quotes from sophomore and junior years were pretty bare. Well, actually, not really sophomore year- after all, that was the year that I had Phetteplace. (I don't at all understand it when people say that they hate him.) And junior year I had some good ones from Murphy and that whole class, but still... meh. Whatever.
I kind of feel like writing a fandom-squee entry right now, but I don't have the energy.
And by the way, AUTO-SAVE IS WORKING. Historic moment, people.
