Of procrastination, Doctuh Z, and adventures in Spanish television.

Okay, so you know how I always write ‘New Hampshuh’ for my location, because I’m posting from New Hampshire? If I ever post from Georgia (not that I’m planning on doing that anytime soon, but you never know) I’ve decided to put my location down as ‘Curious Georgia’.
Just thought you all needed to know that.

I reallyreallyreally should not be on here AT ALL. I was supposed to watch Masterpiece Theater's Dr. Zhivago for Herlihy over break, and since it's, y'know, Saturday, I figured I'd better get going. And yet I'm sitting here. I even said I'd allow myself to play The Sims 2 while watching (multitasking FTW), but noooo. I'm still here on the desktop. Writing about things that have happened over Teh February Break (which is not anything exciting, of course).

So earlier this week Jenny and I were fooling around on cable, channelsurfing (I never channelsurf; it just seems like a big waste of time- but whatever), and we discovered not one, not two, but three Spanish channels. It was a marvelous find, because telenovelas are the epitome of awesome. We spent over half an hour (I know, I know- "Hannah, why didn't you do your homework then, instead of complaining about it now?"), and we were quite scandalized when we translated one of the program descriptions as, “An urban tragic comedy filled with negro humor”. Fortunately, we then remembered that ‘negro’ means 'black' in Spanish, and therefore the thing was just trying to say that it was filled with dark humor. Still, it was pretty touchy for a moment there.

Oh, and dear Bus Boyz, I have to say, you could probably get into quite a bit of trouble if someone important discovered that you have a forum thread entitled ‘Melinda Salazar’s Home Location’ on your forum. Especially because it seems to be your little headquarters for accumulating as much personal information as possible in order to get her fired. Seriously, she's on a sabbatical. LET. IT. GO. She’s a crappy teacher who needs to learn that her opinion =/= fact, but still, that’s just pathetic.
Then again, I’m the one checking their forum, so…

Other random statements:

THIS is the best thing ever. I’m not even going to say don’t deny, because there is no room for denial.

I have some new ICONNNNNNS that I need to add to my custom moods thing, stat. Yey.

Auf wiedersehen.

Argh, we had an awful sub in French last for for about three months (awful as in, we would often correct her grammar, and she had no idea that 'si' could be used to mean yes if it was correcting an incorrect statement), and people pretty much did the same thing to her. No one made her cry or anything because she had no soul, but... let's just say it wasn't pretty. It was hard to feel bad for her, though, because she totally egged them on, and would actually get pretty nasty at times.
Now we have a replacement teacher who's going to be with us for the rest of the year... and so many people hate her on principle, because they loved our old teacher. Now her I feel bad for.

Um... what were they thinking?
I have no idea, but it made me laugh. XD
