Lmao, really? That's hilarious. My mom doesn't have one, but my aunt does, and other than looking at people's photos...she pretty much uses it to take quizzes and send people virtual drinks. XD
Haha, there are applications on Facebook like "Happy Hour" and "Send Beers" and everytime I look at her profile I see that she's either sent or received some. She even sent me a virtual beer at one point, lmao. And yeah, I think that's one thing that brings "older" people to Facebook because they want to reconnect with old friends. I still hope my mom never gets one, though >.> It's not that I have anything incriminating up, but it's still like...idk. With my aunt and uncle I don't think they're going to look at my page that thoroughly but I feel like my mom would, and that would make me feel kind of uncomfortable, haha. (Although I did tell her at one point that if she ever made a Facebook, I wouldn't accept a friend request from her if she sent one.)
XD My mom said that I could send her a friend request if I wanted to, but that she understood if I didn't want her to see it. So that was pretty cool. But I barely ever use Facebook anyway, soooo.
My mom used not to use the internet at all (... except for eBay), but now she spends hours at a time Googling random pictures of racehorses. And she's *this close* to getting a Livejournal so that she can rant on customers_suck. Yeah.
OH GOD, MY SISTER'S THE ONE WHO DOES THAT. Also, "forward this to everyone you know because for every person that gets it, AOL is going to donate $1.00 for this cute little kid's heart transplant!!1!" I sent her to Snopes.com to prove to her that those things aren't real, but she keeps sending them to me "just in case". :|
Mom just sends me the ones with the funny pictures; which is less annoying. Most of the time. :| Makes me wonder why she just doesn't show me the e-mail. WE LIVE IN THE SAME HOUSE DAMMIT I DON'T NEED MY E-MAIL BOX FLOODED.
Haha, I know what you mean. In my case the computer room is just outside my room; it's pretty bizarre to get emails from someone who is currently less than thirty feet away from me.

My mom's just been obsessing over all the old friends she's coming across. I'm sure she has more people friended now than I do.

And I thought her e-mailing those random chain letters with the doofy pictures was bad.
