Each time this site's email notifications start to fail for one reason or another, I am starkly reminded of how much I depend on them. I am often far too ADD to sit and go online for hours at a time; now that they're back, I can actually use LJ without sitting at my computer the entire time like a mindless refreshing drone (... there is a reason why I was pretty much only in one thread yesterday, DDD's HMD notwithstanding). It's AWESOME.

And on an unrelated note, next week I'm hoping to buy a cellphone with one of those little pull-out keyboards, because we have a family-wide texting plan now. So excited.

Ugh, I totally agree with you on the email notifications. When I checked my email I was all like "Awww, people didn't reply to my comments," and then being the stalker bored person that I am, I went to look at their LJs and realized they actually DID reply and by then I was like WTF WHERE ARE MY EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS. Of course, they came in about 4-5 hours later, which didn't help since by then I'd already seen and replied to them. >.>

Yay for family-wide texting plan!!! I want a new phone, but I haven't even had my current one for a year. I thought it was going to be SO EPIC ZOMG (because my old phone was really lame and I'd had it for over two and a half years) but this one is kind of a letdown...I mean, it works, but sometimes a few of the buttons fuck up and it's just like KJASDLKJASLDKJASDAKSJ *headdesk* But yeah. Enough of me going off on a tangent. *shuts up* I hope you get a snazzy new phone that you'll be happy with!

I had the same experience as the person above me: no e-mail notifications coming in, so I assumed no one responded to my comments.  When I refreshed the page(s) or went back to the journal(s), THERE WERE THE COMMENTS.  And the notifs came about five hours in the future.

Good luck with your new phone!  I don't even have a cell phone; there would be little point in me having one, anyway.  I hate talking on the phone, and I wouldn't want to be charged texting fees.  It sounds like you'll be having lots of fun with yours, though, so I wish you the best.  :)
