I still like Philly better than HoCo, though.

Doug: "Speaking of forging things, Maddie, how would you like to make some money after school?"

The table tents at my school's dining halls are filled with typos and grammar mistakes. Today, I spotted the best one I've seen so far:

"Spitfire Grill is a compelling tale about a town struggling to survive, and the heroin that saves it."

UNH is promoting drug use, everybody!

Speaking of dining halls, I had these really good Asian noodles for dinner. They were good, at least, until I found an ant crawling around in them. Why does life do this to me.

Oh, yes!  I was their punching-bag.  Not only was I the most masculine girl in school, I was shy, wore DBZ T-shirts, and liked to draw dogs/wolves, which made me a real weirdo, let me tell you.  Yeah.  If a word isn't factually incorrect, leave it alone.  But this "shero" stuff is just LAME.  Watch it make the next edition of the dictionary, though.  :\

... I know tons of people like that. They're all awesome. 8| "Shero" just makes me laugh. Especially since it came about because they thought "heroine" was too much like "heroin" to use in a public school setting.

Aw.  :D  They sound awesome to me!  I try to think I was too awesome for that school, but, 'eh.  "Shero" makes me think of "Shego" from Kim Possible, which is... yeah.  It's only one letter apart, so.  But, yeah, the origin of the word is pretty funny.  No one wants to think of a female lead as a drug!

High school? ... Shego is awesome; I think I might like "shero" better now because of that connotation. XD

No, middle school.  Moving across the country at twelve-years-old is the absolute WORST thing to EVER do if you're going to attend public school.  You know no one, and kids are already in their little cliques.  If you're shy, make that 10x worse.  Better yet, Shego used to be a hero --... er, shero, or whatever.  So there you go.  Maybe it's not so bad after all...

[identity profile] banerry.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
I'll bet. DX I'm lucky that I spent all my middle school years in the same school district. She's cooler as a villain, though. :P

Awfulawfulawful.  It came to the point where I had to be homeschooled.  I was literally becoming depressed and my straight-A's ( not to brag ) were suffering.  I had enemies in nearly every class, and the bus ride to/from home was unpleasant.  I was in almost constant agony for eight hours.  I dreaded going to school.  I'd say you were very lucky never to transition at that age.  Agreed.  I was just playing off the word association.  Villain!Shego > hero!Shego.

[identity profile] banerry.livejournal.com 2009-09-14 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
... I don't even know what to say. D: I'm glad you had the resources for homeschooling! Villains in Kim Possible just crack me up, period. THEY HAVE VILLAIN CONVENTIONS AND THEIR OWN SUPPLY HOUSES.

Awww.  D:  If I made you feel bad or weird about it, I'm sorry.  It gave me social anxiety, which was formally diagnosed a few years later.  Took me years to get out of that rut.  I still have issues in social settings, but not nearly as bad anymore.  Thanks!  Believe me, I was glad, too.  I needed to get out of that destructive environment.  It was poisoning me to be with those kids.  THEY'RE SO WONDERFULLY DORKY AND SRS BSNS.  Now I want to find episodes...

Oh, good!  I wouldn't want to do that.  D:  Thanks for being supportive.  <3  ...I THINK I MIGHT FIND THIS PERSON.
