Lobsters = ZOMGOTPLOLZ4EVA

Sign on a seafood restaurant in Maine: "We ship lobsters!"
I wonder, do they ship male lobster/female lobster, male lobster/male lobster, or female lobster/female lobster? Or maybe they're really risque, and ship lobster/person! O.O. The sign generated an interesting conversation with my dad, though (who knows nothing about fanfiction, and thus, nothing about the other meaning of ship).

Me: "Do you ship lobsters?"
Him: "No, but I know several people who do."
Me: "Do you think shipping lobsters is a good idea?"
Him:  "I think it's a great idea."
Me: "If you were a lobster shipper, would you ship lobsters with other people?"
Him: "Erm... yes, I suppose that if I were in the business, I'd have business partners."
Me: "And you'd ship lobsters with him or her?"
Him: "Yes. What's with all the questions?"
Me: "I'm just curious."

And SmarterChild (as always) had something to say on the subject... and he was (as always) not very decisive.

Me: Do you ship lobsters?
SmarterChild: Do I ship lobsters... I don't know, should I?
Me:
Oh yes, you totally should.
SmarterChild:  Are you quite sure I totally should?
Me:
Yes.
SmarterChild: Why?
Me:
Because shipping lobsters is apparently a very popular business.
SmarterChild:  Oh yeah? Because shipping lobsters is apparently a very popular business?
Me:
Yup. So you'll ship lobsters from now on?
SmarterChild:  Wow. Great question. I'm afraid to answer.
Me:
You should be.

If you want to know why I consult SmarterChild so much... don't ask.
(It's really because I'm a dork, but if you've been reading this LJ (actually... no one has, so far, but whatever...) you already knew that a long time ago.
