Meme from [livejournal.com profile] anesidorian

Almost a month late, buuuuuut.

Comment on this post. I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.

1. pippi longstocking
PIPPI LONGSTOCKING IS COMING INTO YOUR TOWN
THE ONE NO ONE CAN BE DOWN
OH NO NO NO
THE ONE WHO'S FUN TO BE AROUUUUUUUUND

... aka, Pippi Longstocking is awesome and I pretty much wanted to be her when I was little. The incredibly bad and cheesy movie from the 80s is still one of my guilty pleasures.

2. schnitzel without noodles
In one of the songs in The Sound of Music there's a line about schnitzel with noodles. I prefer my schnitzel without noodles. 8|

3. proper nouns in scrabble
I STRONGLY believe that when playing a game of Scrabble, proper nouns should be fair game. No one I've ever played with will side with me on this one. 8(

4. banerries
Where my username comes from! It's a word coined by Alex the parrot to mean "apple". Apparently, he thought that apples looked like cherries and tasted like bananas, so he took "ban-" from banana and "-erry" from cherry to create a new word that he thought made more sense than "apple". This event proved that he at least partially understood language syntax. In short, I ♥ ALEX.

5. bartending in the dark
A reference to a funny Fandom Wank thing. I don't bartend myself, I promise.

6. john the evil slytherin
A reference to a HILARIOUS Harry Potter badfic that I *think* was called "The Year of Fire"-- It was quoted on [livejournal.com profile] babb_chronicles ages ago, but I can't find the actual post.

7. stealing gus's innocence
Who DOESN'T like stealing Gus's innocence, really? Also, I miss MSN chats.

I also have nothing... of value to say anymore, really. My life is so everyday and regular; I don't want to bore you all by posts filled with nothing. Nooo, I save that for Plurk.

So adorable, fff. ;; I want a parrot like Alex.

I know, right! I'd love to have an African Gray sometime, but they need a lot of time and care so I don't know if I'll ever have time to have one.

We had a brown-headed african grey or something before, when I was little. He learnt a lot of sounds, but after mum got glasses he flipped out and went crazy, so we had to give him away, orz orz

Awww. D: I hope he's still okay now! Apparently it's not uncommon for birds to do that. We have six cockatiels and a Jardine's parrot, and ALL of them freak out if we wear hats.

Silly birds. >: I will stick to ferrets.

[identity profile] banerry.livejournal.com 2010-03-05 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Ferrets are awesome toooooo. I'd love to have one of those someday as well, but they're apparently escape artists, and so I'd be nervous about having them in the house with our dogs. DX Rodent-wise, I stick to rats. :P

[identity profile] havs.livejournal.com 2010-03-05 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
We keep ours in a play-pen (though Calypso managed to escape from it and dislocate her itty bitty arm -.-) and our dogs are totally fine with them. The younger one thinks they're his babies and is super protective of them, and loves to play with them gently.

And ferrets aren't rodents!! They are weasels. :>

[identity profile] banerry.livejournal.com 2010-03-05 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
We have a terrier, who would love nothing more than to kill them. 8( Our other two dogs would probably be fine, though, if their behavior with my rats is anything to go by-- I don't allow them much contact because I'm paranoid, but one of our labs just ignores them and the other likes to give them tongue baths. XD

Really? I thought weasels were considered rodents too, haha.
