Mr. LaForce: "Don't move the riser so far over-- you'll squash Andy's hand."
Kathy: "Actually, that would be a good idea..."

Seriously, I'm continuously amazed by the things I find. Case in point:

Cut for like five embedded videos. )

I can't believe I'm not the only person who remembers some of these things.

Mr. LaForce: [randomly pretending to be a mime in an invisible box]
Kathy: "Ooooh, he's in a box-- quick, lock it!"

Cut for animal shit (not... literally) )

TL;DR: LOL ANIMALS.

Also, fun fact-- when I started out writing the cut text for this entry, I almost started to put "{LOCKED TO...}", just out of habit. My first thought was, "wait, who is this entry locked to again?" My second thought (which came about 0.5 seconds after my first thought) was "NO DAMMIT NO".

Monika: "How do you think the concert will be if Joel can't come?"
Mr. LaForce: "Better."

Soooooo we've been on our trip for almost a week now, and we have a little over a week next. We spent a few days in New Jersey, mostly in the West Windsor/Plainsboro/Princeton area (lol House). For once, though, I didn't visit anyone, because none of the people I normally see were in town.

And then we went down to Hershey Park, which was hardcore. We actually got rained out the first day we went (we usually do this two-day deal where they let you in after a certain hour for a reduced fee, and then you get to come in the next day for less, too). It started coming down about an hour or so after we arrived, then stopped for a little bit, then started again. We left about three hours earlier than we had planned because it didn't look it was going to let up a second time. Before the first closing, though, Jenny and I got utterly soaked because we got the last ride on Lightning Racer (a dueling wooden coaster that both of us are unnaturally obsessed with) before they closed it. It was pouring-- and AWESOME.

The next day we got into the park an hour early thanks to the campground we stayed at, and continued to ride the wooden rollercoasters like woah. I also feel the need to mention that we were the first people of the day to ride Lightning Racer, and the only ones on that particular trip. Dork dork dork.

Now we're in Virginia. We got in yesterday afternoon, though we're leaving this particular campground tomorrow (we couldn't get into our usual one for the weekend). The Verona campground is pretty epic-- I'll definitely try to get some pictures (especially of the random tame bunnies they have running around afdsajk).

I spent most of the day completely unaware of the fact that it was the Fourth of July. I'm so unpatriotic.

Bawwwww.

So I'm sitting here with Rita right now (one of my rats; the non-crazy one), and she's not doing very well. She's fairly old, and has recently taken a sudden downturn. She's tired all the time, and she's been very weak since yesterday-- she can't perch on my shoulder without sliding off anymore, and she isn't really moving much at all. We took her to the vet yesterday, but there wasn't really anything they could do. They couldn't find anything specific wrong with her-- she doesn't have any diseases or tumors (cancer is fairly common in rats) or anything. It's just age.

If she's still alive by the time we have to take them to the vets to be boarded tomorrow, and if she hasn't developed any specific problems that they could help with, I'm just going to keep her here and take her with me on the trip. We'll just be doing a lot of driving at first, and we don't really have any sort of "schedule" of activities that would affect her. If I wanted I could just stay in the RV all day, pfft. But I seriously doubt that she's going to live longer than a few more days, so.

See title. :|

THIS IS OLIVIA. I HOPE SHE DOESN'T BREAK PEOPLE'S FLIST LAYOUTS BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO CUT HER. :(

She was born on Friday to Amy, one of the horses at our barn (and incidentally, I remember when the mommy was this little). We missed the birth, but we got to see her a few hours later. HOW CUTE IS SHE SERIOUSLY.

... Edited because I forgot the quote for Cinna. :|

S-sob.

Marshall: "Look everybody, it's snowing again!"
Eli: "No Marshall, those are seagulls."

An addendum to this entry:

My mom is now addicted to Facebook quizzes. I walked in on her taking "What kind of badass animal are you?" today.

She's apparently a bear.

*crais*

Hmmmm.

Mr. LaForce: "Maddie, how can you possibly play your saxophone with gum in your mouth?"
Maddie: "Sorry." [spits out gum]
Joel: [Pulls a huge bag of M&Ms out from under her stand] "Look, there's this, too!"

My Justice Studies professor says that the only way someone can really process or make sense of some of the most awful things in the world is to accept that evil people exist-- not just people who do evil things, but people who are absolutely, truly, unequivocally evil.

I couldn't disagree more.
corknut: (juno- skeptical)
[livejournal.com profile] century_fox-Cinnaaaaa, I'm going to take your advice and start randomly posting all my quotes from high school at the beginning of my entries, like so:

Alec: [of having to play the timpani really quietly during "Three Phrases From Yugoslav Folk Songs"] "Ugh! I just want to bang!"
Mr. LaForce: "Must be those freshman hormones."

Those who don't care (read: everyone but us) can ignore it if they want and it'll be all good. 8)

So it's 3AM right now, and I've basically reached the point where pretty much everything in the world is absolutely hilarious. I also have to get up for a dentist appointment at around eleven tomorrow. I am so stupid. I should move to Spain so I can stay up till five in the morning on a regular basis and not even really be breaking the norm.

... Also, I quoted LazyTown in my entry subject line. My life has officially reached a new low.

IDEK.

So Jenny got her yearbook today, and I'm looking at it. Two quotes from the "memorable class moments" of the science section:

"When Mr. Phetteplace would go off on a tangent about a little pony and a unicorn, but then somehow related it to what we were learning."

"When Mr. Phetteplace used a pair of 80-82-sized underwear to erase the notes he wrote on the whiteboard."

Mm-hm.

Also, I'm extremely glad that I finally got to see the picture of Grant dressed up as Sarah Palin. That's really all I have to say.

So I need to get my rats a new cage, because the doors for the food dishes are loose. I discovered this when Marie (that's the crazy one) pushed one of the doors open from the inside, knocked the food dish out of the cage, and then proceeded to climb out and jump onto the floor.

Seriously. I don't even know.

I'm just glad I turned on the light to investigate the noise; I almost didn't. We tied the doors shut with wire (well, all except the big door, but neither of them can reach the latch on that one anyway), which is the best we can do until we have time to get over to PetCo and get a new cage. But uuuuugh, rat cages are expensive, especially the larger ones. Fail.

I am addicted to The Sims 3.

Well. Not addicted addicted, but I played it for about three hours straight yesterday. And I'll probably do something similar when I get back from class tonight (... yes, I'm in class right now-- LJing while taking notes on the side, yay). It's a good thing it's summer.

Also, I am completely loving this paid account oh my God. I originally got it for more icon space, but the extra layouts are amazing, too.

So I've watched the entire first season of Scrubs in... five days. I have no life.

It really is such a cute show, though. I prefer House as far as medical dramas go, buuuuuut. OH AND SPEAKING OF HOUSE-- the fifth season isn't coming out on DVD until late August. I don't want to wait that long; I like instant gratification!

... But now I have to go steal the second season of Scrubs from the TV room. And figure out the name of the actress who plays that patient that Elliot BFFs around with, so that I can find out WHY HER VOICE SOUNDS SO FAMILIAR.

My mom is addicted to Facebook.

... Ugh.

It's 1AM and Cody is standing under my window BARKING HIS HEAD OFF, and Sophie is standing at the doors to my porch, staring at him. And they are in LOOOOOOOVE.

I hate dogs. (Not really.)

... This weekend has been a little crazy. The battery on one of our cars died (yes, the same car that was badly damaged when Mom tried to back out of the garage with the trunk hatch still open-- we're not really sure whether or not the two problems are related). We took it in to have it fixed and found out that about $1,000 of the repairs wouldn't be covered by insurance. Sucks. BUT they gave us a rental car to use while ours was being repaired, and told us that if we liked it we could trade them at no extra cost. So we, quite unexpectedly, have a new car. It's a sky blue VW Beetle with a convertible top. It's EPIC.
We also bought a trampoline-- Jenny's wanted one for a while, and after going over to Sonja's house and using hers she decided that she needed one OMG NOW. So we had been pricing them all week, and we actually found a pretty good-quality one that wasn't very expensive. I'm more excited about the trampoline than the car, because apparently I have the maturity of a ten-year-old (but eh, I already knew that).
AND to top that all off, I got the last Pendragon book (because yes, I am still reading that series). Bobby looks middle-aged on the cover, y/y?

My summer class starts tomorrow, and I haven't been able to get any of the textbooks or materials yet. So we're going to Durham Book Exchange and/or Campus Bookstore tomorrow, and I'll do all the reading/preparatory work in the hours before class starts. FUN.

... I also had a dream last night that I was riding past the Durham shopping plaza on a moped (... seriously), and I saw Madame coming out of the DuMP and I was all, "OH YAY SHE'S NOT IN THE HOSPITAL ANYMORE 8D". But then I woke up and remembered that awwww, I still really have no idea how she's doing. Seriously, though-- that school has lost so many good teachers lately, for one reason or another. And Phetteplace and Herlihy are apparently retiring after this year. Phetteplace. Future generations will have no idea what it's like to have an escaped mental patient as a science teacher, and this makes me sad.

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] rinhriveiel-- this covers anyone and everyone, not just people on my flist (I threw my parents in there, haha).

AND I PROBABLY WON'T RESPOND TO COMMENTS, OUT OF EMBARRASSMENT. LOL WHUT.

I have my last final tomorrow, and dorms close on Thursday. I'm dreading cleaning out my room more than I'm dreading taking the test, which is probably pretty dumb, but eh.

THIS IS THE LAST NIGHT I'M SPENDING IN MY ROOM, AHHHH. But I think I'm going to like Marston better, because the room I picked has its windows facing the woods instead of the traffic circle, so I won't have to worry about the screen getting popped out (... twice) by boys playing with frisbees on the lawn. Good times.

I should probably go to bed (not that it's all that late), but I'm not tired. I'll probably just waste more time on the internet like I've been doing for half the evening.
